With a putty knife or a paint brush, apply and spread a coat of remover (1/8" or more) on the surface to strip (picture 1). The thicker the coat is, the more efficient Super Décapant will be.
Important: during the 5 first minutes, burst bubbles and blisters with a paint brush (pictures 2, 3 & 4).
After 15 minutes, check with a paint brush whether the remover has reached the raw surface (wood, brick, metal, etc.), but don't throw away the paint and remover coat.
If you don't see the raw surface, let the remover coat in place and wait for 15 more minutes.
Let the remover work as long as necessary till it makes its way through all the paint coats (pictures 5 & 6).
Once the raw surface has been reached, you can use again the paint and remover coat (still soft) on other surfaces: the remover will continue stripping as long as the accumulated coat does not turn into a thick putty.
That means you can make twice more stripping work with Super Décapant than with any other remover.
Once all the surface has been stripped, re-apply a thin coat of Super Décapant on the dirty surface and use steel wool to clean wood with the grain.
Finally rinse with a wet cloth and wipe out (If you are stripping a metal surface, don't rinse with water but with mineral solvent, to avoid rust).
Use nylon brushes to remove paint from carved or grooved wood surfaces.
Apply generously Super Décapant on the glue, and let it penetrate until the glue can be completely removed without too much effort with a scraper;
Rinse with a wet cloth and wipe out.
Super Décapant removes all 1/4" thick glues, even completely hardened PL Premium, within 45 minutes. It is also most efficient for removing tar.
Let brushes soak in Super Décapant until they have softened, work them well in the remover, finally rinse them in hot soapy water.
Although Super Décapant is a water soluble product, it is always recommended to take all necessary precautions in order to avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Always work with a bucket of water and a clean cloth to wash out and neutralize any splash of remover that might come into contact with you. In case of contact with skin, rinse with water and clean cloth: the pricking sensation will disappear in no time; in case of contact with eyes, flush with water.
Work in a fresh place away from the sunshine (you can even make your stripping work in winter in a non-heated garage: Super Décapant is not affected by frost: it keeps on working efficiently);
Store your Super Décapant away from any heat source.
